Goals Bank Overview

Overview

The Goals Bank provides a curated collection of S.M.A.R.T. goals organized by area and category. Use it to select, customize, and insert goals directly into your reports with proper formatting and support levels.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Accessing the Goals Bank

  1. Navigate to Tools from the main navigation
  2. Click Goals Bank
  3. Or access it directly from the Report Writer by clicking Goals in the Report Builder panel

Selecting Goals

  1. Step 1 - Choose Area: Select a goal area (e.g., Expressive Language, Receptive Language, Pragmatics, Fluency, Articulation)
  2. Step 2 - Choose Category: Select a specific category within that area
  3. Step 3 - Select Goals: Browse available goals and check the boxes for goals you want to use
  4. Click Next after each step

Customizing Goals

  1. In Step 4, review your selected goals
  2. For each goal:
    • Edit the goal text to customize it for the specific client
    • Set the Opportunity percentage (e.g., 70%, 80%)
    • Choose the Support Level: Minimal, Moderate, or Maximum
  1. Make changes as needed for each goal
  2. Click Next when finished

Previewing and Inserting Goals

  1. In Step 5, review the formatted goals section
  2. The goals appear as they will in your report
  3. Click Copy to copy the formatted text
  4. Or click Insert if accessed from Report Writer to insert directly into your report
  5. The goals are inserted as a properly formatted section

Using Goals in Reports

  1. While editing a report, open the Report Builder panel
  2. Click Goals
  3. Follow the steps to select and customize goals
  4. Click Insert to add them to your report
  5. The goals appear at your cursor position

Notes / Best Practices

  • Customize goal text to match each client's specific needs and abilities
  • Set appropriate opportunity percentages based on the client's current performance
  • Choose support levels that reflect the level of assistance the client needs
  • Review goals before inserting to ensure they are appropriate for the client
  • Goals are formatted as S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound)
